USD Index (DXY)

The USD Index (DXY) is Traderista's own computed measure of the US dollar's average strength against a basket of major currencies, built from six constituent pairs (see below) — not a direct feed of any single licensed benchmark. It moves on the same US monetary-policy and macro-data drivers as USD itself, aggregated across the basket.

What moves USD Index?

USD

Federal Reserve rate decisions, US inflation (CPI/PCE), and the monthly jobs report are the dominant drivers — since the index is a USD-strength composite, any release that moves the dollar against its major counterparts moves the index in the same direction.
