How to read this table
Each currency’s figure is its own 24-hour % change, not a fixed “strength score.” The 8 majors compare against the other 7 every 30 minutes; the other 92 compare against yesterday’s close once a day. Sorting mixes both clocks into one list on purpose — the “30 MIN”/“DAILY” pill on each row (tap the ? next to it) always says which one you’re looking at.
A currency only appears in the sorted list once it has a real 24-hour-old snapshot to compare against. Until then it sits under “Accumulating data” — Traderista never fills that gap with a guessed or stale number.

What the USD Index actually is
The USD Index (often referred to as DXY) condenses the dollar’s standing against six other currencies into one number, instead of checking eight separate rows. Traderista computes its own live version from the same rates feeding this page.
The original US Dollar Index was created by the Federal Reserve in 1973, right after the Bretton Woods system ended and major currencies began floating freely; ICE Futures U.S. has calculated and published it since 1985. Its six constituent currencies — heaviest-weighted to lightest, the euro, Japanese yen, British pound, Canadian dollar, Swedish krona, and Swiss franc — were fixed to the United States’ biggest trading partners as of that same year and have never been rebalanced since (the euro itself didn’t exist until 1999, when it simply inherited its predecessor currencies’ combined weight).
The USD Index figure is computed by Traderista from constituent pairs — not the ICE U.S. Dollar Index®. Only the % change is ever shown; Traderista never publishes an absolute index level.
Traders watch it because it’s a quick read on whether the dollar is broadly strong or weak, without scanning eight rows individually — a complement to this page’s own currency-by-currency view, not a replacement for it.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a ranking of the strongest economies?
No. The list is ordered by economy size: the most-traded currencies come from real trading-volume data (a global central-bank turnover survey), and the rest are added by the size of their issuing economy (GDP) once that survey stops individually ranking past its most-traded ~35. That order stays stable; use the Gainers/Losers filter to see today's movers instead.
Why do some currencies say "30 MIN" and others say "DAILY"?
The 8 major currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, AUD, CAD, NZD) come from a batch fetched every 30 minutes. The other 92 come from one daily fetch. Both live in the same list, but the pill on each row always says which clock it's on.
Why is a currency missing from the list?
It needs a real snapshot from roughly 24 hours ago to compute a % change. Until that exists, it renders honestly under "Accumulating data" instead of a guessed number.
Why doesn't the USD Index show a number like 103.45?
Traderista only ever displays % change for the USD Index, never an absolute level — both a product rule and part of how the figure avoids implying it's the licensed ICE U.S. Dollar Index®.
What's the difference between Currency Strength and the USD Index?
Currency Strength ranks all 100 tracked currencies against each other, USD included as just one row. The USD Index is a separate, additional figure — six specific pairs, weighted and combined into one number that speaks only to the dollar's own broad standing, often called DXY for the same reason.
Can Currency Strength predict which pair will move next?
No — every figure on this page describes what has already happened over its own comparison window, never a forecast. Traderista's tools are historical fact, not predictions; see the disclaimer at the bottom of this page.
