How to read this
Each session card shows its own open/close hours, converted from that city’s local time to the instant it actually happens. Daylight saving in any of the four zones is handled automatically, so a session’s open/close time in your own clock shifts exactly when the real market does.
The overlap countdowns below track every pair of adjacent sessions, not just one. London/New York carries the most trading volume of the three, so it’s marked “Peak liquidity,” but Sydney/Tokyo and Tokyo/London both run the same real math.

Why does a session's close time change through the year?
Three of the four sessions observe daylight saving in their own city (only Tokyo never does). Each session's hours are fixed in that city's LOCAL clock, so the equivalent time in your own timezone shifts by an hour whenever that city's own clocks change. The result is always the real local hours, never silently wrong.
Why are there three overlaps, not just one?
Every adjacent pair of sessions genuinely overlaps for part of the day: Sydney with Tokyo, Tokyo with London, and London with New York. London/New York carries the most volume of the three, so it's the one usually called out as peak liquidity, but the other two are real, tradeable windows too.
Does this need an internet connection to stay accurate?
No. Every session's open/close time is computed from your own device's clock the moment the page loads, not fetched from a server. As long as your device's clock is correct, the countdowns stay correct.
